Is Tivo or Cox Cable DVR is better?
I am thinking of buying a well-tive or upgrade to digital cable with a DVR. I know that is not otherwise a monthly cost. I just wanted some help to decide the best way to spend my money every month. Thank you!
As everyone is saying, TiVo is number one! But you are looking to get the most of your investment. Personally, I have a dual tuner TiVo DVR and Cox HD dual tuner DVR. The Tivo has more characteristics, but at the top of your cable bill, you also have to pay a monthly fee for it (which varies depending on whether you pay monthly [$ 16.99/month], or go prepaid multi-year subscriptions, which leave much cheaper [3-year plan @ $ 299 = $ 8.31/month]). You get a limited warranty (1 year?). If you go with the DVR, Pat Cox, of course, have a monthly fee on your bill incorporated Cox (considerably less than TiVo), and you have a problem, all you need to do is trade in the other box! Financially, the Cox DVR is the best bet.
